Laptop won't turn on?

I have a gateway p series laptop and it will not turn on . Ivr tried removing the battery and putting it back in and trying it without the battery and just having it plugged in and it still won't work. It's been about an hour and it still won't turn on. Is there anything I can do that might help it work again ? And Sending it in for repair is not an option for me so don't leave that in the answers please.|||Do you get any lights on the laptop at all? Was the laptop running while sitting on a surface like a bed or a couch and possibly shut off due to overheating?

One thing I would try is take the battery out, unhook the laptop from the wall charger. After both of these are disconnected, press and hold the power button for 30 seconds. Then put the battery back in and hook the wall charger back up. Then attempt to power on the computer. If the lights around the keyboard light up and the fans start running then it is not a power supply problem.

This is a common problem and by doing the above process it is called a power drain. It completely drains any power that might be on the main system boards after the laptop is powered off. Hope this helps.|||Then how are you on yahoo answers?

Check to see if your computer is over heated.

Leave the computer plugged in for several hours then try to turn it on again.

Try to turn it on with the comp plugged in but with the battery out.

Hold down the on button for more than just a sec. Hold it down for 10 secs and see if anything happens.

If none of this works I suggest you look at the user's manual to see what it says.

IF none of this works then I suggest you leave your comp alone for 24 hrs, plugged in, and try to turn it on again.

IF that doesn't work then you do need to get it checked out by a professional. Perhaps it'll be covered by your warranty.

I know you said you didn't want that in the answer but sorry babe, that's probably your only option.|||Are any lights lit on the laptop when the charger is plugged in?|||Hold it upside down and shake it until the screen clears.

Wait, no, that only works for an Etch-a-Sketch.|||maybe ur charger is not working its died
