Problems installing netgear wireless usb adapter ?

i have tried usind the disk that cam with it, when i click install drivers, a window to set up my epson printer comes up every time. and when i plug in the stick itself, the computer restarts and when it gets to the users screen it restarts and it keeps doing that in a loop. can someone help me and give me guidance on how to install this please.this is the second netgear product ive had and both of them i have not been able to install . my other netgear product was a wireless modem router which my computer will not recognise through the ethernet cable so this is why ivr got the wireless usb reciever but i cant get this to install either.|||Try unplugging the usb adapter and restart your computer.

When its up, plug in the device and let windows recognize it and search for drivers. When asked for source just put in the disk that came with it. Don't run the install program, just let windows get the drivers off the disk and use the built in wireless program in XP.|||A router is not "recognized" by the PC. It will give an addres to the PC, if DHCP is turned on (and it is by default)

From the wall: coax to the modem, Ethernet to the router, Ethernet to the PC.

What type of connection are you attempting? Wired or wireless?
