Question about phone falling in water?

My phone (iphone 4) slipped out of my pocket into the toilet for a split second. It literally was completely submerged in water for one second. I took it out' wiped off the watet and dried the ports as best i could. Everything works completely normal on it. Initially, the ipod loudspeaker wouldnt work but it randomly started working out of nowhrere 5 hours later. It has now been 18 hours since it fell in and works normally. Ivr even charged it and its still normal. Is it possible that there was no true water damage? Or should i be expecting something futurewise?|||ive had that happen with multiple phones and most of the time after they dry out they do work normal again. my husband dropped his in the lake and it still worked (it was a blackberry)|||When a cell phone (or other battery powered electronic items) gets wet, it is a very good idea to remove the battery and let the item dry out thoroughly before replacing the battery. Leaving the case open and placing the device in a sunny window or under a warm lamp can speed the process. Removing the battery decreases the chances of damage to the circuitry by shorting. Even though it is working normally now, if water is inside, it can cause a short later. I would still recommend opening it up, removing the battery and charger and letting it dry out overnight.
