Verizon help please.?

So i have a samsung reality for Verizon wireless, but before that i had the samsung rogue but it got stolen at an amusement park, so my dad told verizon that it got stolen and it so happened that i was eligible for an upgrade so i got the samsung reality against my will, i wanted a cooler phone, i've had my samsung reality for 1 year, but if i had my samsung rogue still this December i would have had it for 2 years and all these new phones are coming out, and i want one of them, but i would have to pay full price for it, and i don't have 400-600$ just laying around, times are tough i don't have money like that, i don't know what to do, i skimmed past this article on verizon about how you can get a phone every 12 months and this is what it said "If your equipment is lost or stolen,* sign in to My Verizon online and choose the

"Suspend/Resume Service" link under Quick Links on the overview page. You will then be guided through the steps to either Suspend or Resume your service. [You can also dial (800) 922-0204 (from any phone) and complete this task via our Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system.] Defective devices under the manufacturer鈥檚 warranty will be replaced for free with a Certified Like-New Replacement device. Just contact Verizon Wireless at (866) 406-5154.

If your device experiences a defect after the manufacturer鈥檚 warranty expires and you are not enrolled in Total Equipment Coverage or Extended Warranty, please visit the Device Replacement Program information page to review your options.

If you experience a lost, stolen or damaged device and you are not enrolled in Total Equipment Coverage or Wireless Phone Protection, please visit the Device Replacement Program information page to review your options.

*If you have Total Equipment Coverage and have the Mobile Recovery application, please visit www.MyMobileRecovery.com to attempt to locate or lock your device or wipe your contacts before suspending service."

My phone does have some defects like it'll shut off on me like once a week while im texting or deleting my messages, or sometimes it won't let me text it'll say service not available: temporarily or something like that, but yeah what should i do? lol|||This always happens to me. I basically collect Android phones because newer and better ones come out every week.

If there is a line on your plan that's eligible for a new upgrade, they can transfer that to you. OR, you can call customer service, and complain about how horrible the phone is, and then ask to speak to a manager. I have done this several times and ended up getting free phones/upgrades from it. It all depends on who you talk to.

But just know that technology is moving fast. As soon as you get a new phone, a better one will be out within a month. But yeah, good luck. Don't give up!

PS: if you're able to upgrade your phone, save the opportunity for a few months. The Droid Bionic and HTC Vigor are coming in a few months.|||^ Droid bionic is coming out next month (most likely early next month)!
